You never know where you're going to find unusual South Asian appearances. Tonight on "60 Minutes," I was watching this video about the true story of Nathaniel Ayers, a mentally ill musical virtuoso and homelessman, and his friendship with LA Times columnist Steve Lopez (the hook is a new movie with Jamie Foxx playing Ayers and Robert Downie, Jr, playing Lopez). I wasn't expecting a South Asian connection, but then, all of a sudden, there was a desi face.
These are screenshots below of Robert Gupta, a violinist in the Los Angeles Philharmonic, who is among the folks working with Ayers. More on Gupta, who joined the orchestra at the age of 19, at his member profile at Violionist.com.
