CLIFTON, N.J. (AP) Prosecutor says second person shot in Clifton church, a 23-year-old man, has
Earlier today, what should have been a routine day of prayer turned into a nightmare for the 150 church-goers withc connections to the Indian state of Kerala at St. Thomas Knyanaya Church in Clifton, New Jersey (about a dozen miles from New York City). The photo on the right is of Joseph “Sanish” Pallipurath, the man the police say is responsible for the nightmare. From NorthJersey.com:
Reshma James, 24, died about 4 p.m., police said. The other two victims, identified by fellow parishioners as Dennis John Malloosseril, 23, and Silvy Perincheril, 47, were in what police termed “very critical condition.”
Friends of Malloosseril said he was near death and family members were making arrangements to donate his organs late tonight.
The gunman, Joseph “Sanish” Pallipurath, 27, of Sacramento, Calif., had driven cross-country to track down his wife and was still at large on Sunday night, Clifton Capt. Robert Rowan said.
Pallipurath fled before police arrived. Authorities including the FBI, state police, and several county agencies are looking for him. He was last seen driving a 2004 green Jeep Wrangler with a black soft top and California license plate 5JHD200. Police believe he has a silver handgun and anyone who spots him should call 911.
