Bridget McCain, and her famous family, were on the cover of last week's People magazine, one of the highest-circulation publications in the U.S.
I asked a friend in Bangladesh if there was any excitement there about Bridget possibly moving into the White House in January 2009. Here's what he wrote:
Lots of very silly articles called "Welcome Bridget, to the White House."
Prothom Alo's magazine just had a cover story on her, featuring the nun who has raised her until adoption.
The exuberant press is mostly in Bangla. The main English papers (Daily Star & New Age) are hardline Obama supporters as far as I can tell.

Earlier on SAJAforum: a post about Bridget's appearance at the Republican National Convention (and the story of her adoption by Cindy and John McCain).
REQUEST: Anyone know of other South Asians who have been on the cover of People? If you have time, you can scroll through all 1,797 covers over the last 34 years here.
