TV: Shashi Tharoor on "The Colbert Report"
See below for Shashi Tharoor's appearance on "The Colbert Report" on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007. Hear him answer questions like this: "If the UN isn't anti-American, why isn't called 'the U.S.?' " and "Ban Ki-moon is a man's name?" and "Have you ever gotten a chance to touch John Bolton's moustache?"
Tharoor's biggest applause line, in rebutting a question about the value of negotiation versus military might: "...the great French statesman Talleyrand said, "The one thing you can't do with a bayonet is sit on it."

EARLIER: Shashi Tharoor resigns UN post.

I'd never seen Shashi speak before and I was completely bowled over by his performance here. Suave, witty and humble - a remarkable appearance. I wish he could become the Secy General of the UN - based on this performance, he would have been remarkable and a great representative for the new India.
