The Houston Zoo's elephant-naming contest ended tragically, with the infant beast dubbed... Mac. Not Sundar, nor Janu, as we had earlier hoped, but... Mac. As in iPod. Or Big Mac.
Over 8000 votes were cast, many of them, evidently, by corporate lobbyists.
